WHEN WILL YOU BE OPEN AGAIN?

Sometime in 2024, hopefully! Date will be posted here as soon as I know.

Do you take credit cards?

No, not at this time.

Where are you located?

I have a dedicated massage room at my private townhome residence at Canterbury Crossing, 10500 Lake June Rd, Dallas, TX 75217. It's very quiet and peaceful because I am in the back section. Easy to get to off 635 East -just south of Mesquite, TX. Parking is right in front.

Why do I have to register?

It is primarily for better customer service. Registration allows me to know who is calling and give preference to registered clients over curiosity seekers. I don't answer my phone for non-registered callers because I feel that my website covers almost everything. See Registration Form.

Are your client ratings real?
Yes, indeed. As a massage therapist, I have to be able to prove they are real if I'm ever audited. I keep them in a private file in case Texas asks to see them!

Do you ever offer outcalls?     No. Never.

Do you ever offer late evening appointments?     No. Never later than 7pm.

What kind of massages do you do?

Skilled in many styles of massage therapy, I generally use a combination of modalities depending on your needs and preference. Using traditional Lomi lomi, I include Swedish techniques and Trigger point. I may use some Deep tissue when needed. I usually include Glute work and some Reflexology. I am told that my style is very unique, slow and rhythmic with fairly deep pressure. I have many large clients who need and love my deep pressure style (different than deep tissue). I am sensitive to differences in the density of various body tissue types. Smaller, less muscular people (and pregnant women) often require (or prefer) less pressure and may enjoy light Effleurage with some Trigger point therapy. To receive the best possible massage, please make comments such as "good, deeper, lighter, right there", etc. so I can learn your preferences as we go.

I believe in the healing power of touch. Read about it and the origins of massage - plus Swedish Massage vs. Esalen on my Massage Therapy page. It's very interesting.

What about draping? Is it required?

For best results during my full-body Lomi lomi massage, minimal draping is best. If you have a preference for No Draping, you must sign my intake form indicating so.
I can also do a full-body Swedish style massage with traditional sheet draping, (exposing only the body parts being massaged at a given time) if you prefer.
Draping with just a towel is prefered by most because it minimizes time spent fussing with sheets, so you get more massage time. Just let me know which draping option you prefer before your session begins.

Is it okay to leave my underwear on?

Absolutely. Even with the draping, you should undress only to your own comfort level.

What do you wear during a massage?

Attractive, comfortable clothing. I NEVER get nude to give a massage. It's never offered so DO NOT ASK.

Do you ever allow clients to touch you?

Client's are never allowed to touch me in a sexual manner. If they do, the massage is over, and they will be asked to leave.

What do you mean by "sensual" massage?

I utilize Lomi lomi massage techniques providing long, smooth flowing strokes in my massages with an energy and love that you can feel. It is delightfully sensual, and may even arouse some clients. This is why I drape men with a small towel (there) even if they have a non-draping preference. Sensual does NOT mean 'happy ending massage'.

What if I get "aroused" during my session?

Concern about having a sexual reaction to therapeutic massage keeps many men from getting bodywork. It is very common for men to get an erection during a session. Touch to any part of the body can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in an erection. My use of Lomi lomi style massage and inner thigh massage techniques may arouse some clients. It is perfectly natural since massage increases blood flow and circulation. If it is a source of embarrassment, that area can be draped without hindering the massage. Just try to relax (clear your mind) and take slow, deep breaths.

Do you offer clients any sexual release?

No, I provide a legitimate massage and never touch your genitals. Sensual does not mean sexual, romantic or intimate.

What is Lomi lomi Hawaiian massage?

Lomi lomi is ancient Hawaiian massage and utilizes long, broad strokes done with whole hands and arms but specifically done with loving hands and a healing intention. It's purpose is to heal the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being. The "loving touch" of Lomi lomi massage is extremely pleasurable and sensuous - providing that caring touch that we all need more of to feel loved and "connected".   It feels awesome and is healing on many levels.     Read more here about Lomi lomi

What is a Trigger point massage?

A trigger point is a little knot or tight string in muscle tissue that refers pain to other areas. A trigger point in the back, for example, may trigger pain in the neck. The neck, now acting as a satellite trigger point, may then cause pain in the head. The pain may be sharp and intense or a dull ache and trigger point may actually refer pain anywhere in the body. Little lumps that do not refer pain are "latent trigger points" and may grow into active ones later. An active trigger point can be deactivated by holding firm but gentle pressure on it for a few seconds until the muscle releases.
Usually there is a taut band in muscles containing trigger points, and a hard nodule can be felt. Often a twitch response can be felt in the muscle. Clusters of trigger points are not uncommon in some of the larger muscles, such as the gluteus group (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus). Often there is a heat differential in the local area of a trigger point, and many practitioners can sense that. The results of therapy are related to the skill level of the therapist.

What is deep tissue massage?

What are Lymph Nodes?

The Lymphatic System is your immune system's first line of defense. Lymph nodes are found throughout the body including most notably the neck, armpits, and groin. Lymph nodes filter lymph fluid and remove damaging elements picked up along the way, such as bacteria and cancer cells. When lymph nodes detect these foreign elements in the fluid, they produce infection-fighting white blood cells, becoming enlarged in the process, hence a swollen gland. Read more about Lymph Nodes here.

What is Lymph Node massage?

If you're feeling tired and low on energy, or if you've been sick lately and feel like your body is fighting to get back on track, lymph massage would likely serve you well. Here's why. The Lymphatic System is your immune system's first line of defense.

Circulation of lymph fluid is stimulated mostly by muscle contraction. Lymph fluid gets squeezed along the system until the fluid reaches a blood vessel where it is deposited. Located throughout the body are small bean-shaped Lymph Nodes where bacteria and other noxious substances are filtered out from the lymph system. When the body is overloaded with toxins the nodes can become congested. Congestion can also occur when there is very little muscular activity.

As a result of congestion in lymph nodes the lymph drainage is obstructed and there will be a resultant congestion beyond the lymph nodes. To restore free movement of the lymph fluid it is sometimes necessary to massage the lymph nodes.

The lymphatic flow can stagnate for many reasons, such as swelling, chronic inflammation, lack of physical activity, stress, fatigue, emotional shock, age, poorly fitted brassieres worn for an excessive amount of time. When lymphatic circulation slows down, the regeneration of cells becomes less effective. If you're feeling a bit sluggish, experiencing mild to moderate swelling, recovering from a sports injury, or interested in optimizing your lymph system for stronger immunity, ask your massage therapist about lymphatic massage. It can have a powerful impact on your body's ability to heal. Lymph massage is a gentle, noninvasive technique that many massage therapists use for their clients as part of detoxification and anti-aging therapy.

Is it really important to drink water after my massage?

It's always good to flush and hydrate! Drinking water is especially important after deep tissue massage and LNM lymphatic node massage. The lymph system collects unwanted material and lymphatic massage releases this (waste and toxins) into the blood stream. So you absolutely want to flush it out. The manipulation of muscles depletes them of water so you need to rehydrate them. By drinking plenty of water, you can help eliminate waste materials that can cause muscle aches and soreness after a massage.

How often should I have massage therapy?

How often you have massage therapy depends on your situation and goals ~ we can discuss it when you come in.

Am I expected to "chat" during the massage?

During a massage session, you may be asked pertinent questions like if the pressure is good...but being quiet can also enhance your relaxation. If you wish to chat during the massage, that is fine too.

What if the massage feels painful to me?

Your massage should NOT be painful. Please say if the pressure being used is causing you pain because great results are possible without pain.

Can massage relieve pain from my condition?

Yes. Massage can often help to lessen or eliminate pain stemming from a wide range of medical conditions that include fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ pain, migraines, chronic back pain, and others. There are, however some conditions for which massage is not helpful so do tell me what you're seeking relief for.

I bruise easily; can I still get a massage?

Yes, however you should inform me that you bruise easily so I can adjust pressure and technique to prevent or minimize bruising.

What music do you play in your sessions?

I have a good selection of music and will play anything you find soothing and relaxing during your session. Loreena McKennitt and Sarah Brightman are wonderful, as is Moya or Máire Brennan, widely referenced as the "First Lady of Celtic Music"; also her sister, Eithne Ní Bhraonáin, better known as ENYA -Yes, that's right. ALL are So Very Soothing and Relaxing! Perfect for a relaxing massage. I sometimes play some Pink Floyd. Please feel free to suggest any favorites you have prior to your session and I'll try to provide it. The right music makes a difference in your relaxation. Most people really enjoy my music selection.
