FAQ
What are Lymph Nodes?
Lymph nodes are small bean-shaped masses of lymphatic tissue surrounded by connective tissue - located throughout the body. In the groin region, they're called Inguinal lymph nodes. They trap toxins, bacteria, even cancer cells, and are critical for the body’s immune response. During a physical exam, a doctor may feel to check for swollen or enlarged lymph glands in this area.

  Lymphatic Massage Drainage

The Lymphatic System is responsible for carrying away the residue of cell metabolism. Think about it as clearing out the trash. Circulation of lymph fluid is stimulated mostly by muscle contraction. As muscles contract the lymph fluid gets squeezed along the system until the fluid reaches a blood vessel where it is deposited. Located at various points throughout the body are Lymph Nodes where bacteria and other noxious substances are filtered out from the lymph system. When the body is overloaded with toxins the nodes can become congested. Congestion can also occur when there is very little muscular activity. Toxic overload and muscular inactivity are functions of age. As we get older, we get some of both. Prostate problems are also a function of age. Are you seeing the connection?

As a result of congestion in lymph nodes, lymph drainage is obstructed. To restore free movement of lymph fluid, it is often necessary to gently massage the lymph nodes. Lymph Node Massage (LNM) is actually important for men near 40 years old or over, particularly those who are sedentary. Sitting for much of the day with little or no physical exercise is commonly referred to as 'a sedentary lifestyle' which has been shown to contribute to many preventable illnesses and even causes of death.

Massaging the Inguinal Lymph Nodes

Lymph nodes located in the groin area are called the Inguinal nodes. They are at the top of the legs where the legs join the torso.
Enlarged lymph nodes in the inguinal region can, in some cases indicate the presence of cancer in the anus or vulva. They also can be related to metastasis of existing cancers. This is because the lymphatic system, though its function is to prevent infection and fight cancers, also carries cancerous cells to other parts of the body once it is in the system.
Inguinal lymph nodes can be gently massaged to promote lymphatic drainage. This can even help to relieve congestion in the prostate area - so it is a great health benefit.
